Big thank you to Scott Sleckman and Andrea Tudor for leading our very first Kids Klass in Shrewsbury last week! We learned about what chia seeds are and how they transform to become pudding. Did you know chia seeds can absorb 12x their weight in liquid?! Then, since we know the key to getting kids to try new things is giving them choices, the kids got to dig in and make their own version of chia pudding with their choice of fresh fruit toppings!  We made a lot of new chia pudding fans that night -- look at those happy faces!  The best part of all: chia pudding is EASY to make and is extremely versatile! Here's all you need to make a great chia pudding: Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup chia seeds
  • 2 cups liquid of choice (e.g. nut milk, coconut water, juice, etc.)
  • Optional: agave or sweetener of choice to taste
  • Suggested toppings
    • Fresh berries
    • Fresh cut tropical fruit (pineapple, mango, kiwi)
    • Sliced banana
    • Coconut flakes
    • Chocolate chips
    • Warm spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.)
Instructions
  1. Mix the chia seeds with your liquid and sweetener (if adding).
  2. Let sit 2-3 hours, or overnight.
  3. Optional: blend pudding in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  4. Mix and match the toppings listed above to your preference.
