Update 10/3: Thanks to everyone who shopped with us--we raised $5,000!   On September 30 and October 1, Dean’s Natural Food Market’s Basking Ridge and Chester locations will donate 5% of both days’ proceeds to support the NJ SEEDS program at The Willow School. NJ SEEDS is a non-profit organization that prepares motivated, high-achieving, low-income students for admission to private schools and colleges across the country. The Willow School, an independent school for students in preschool through eighth grade in Gladstone, New Jersey, welcomed its first NJ SEEDS students in the fall of 2016 and has since doubled the number of SEEDS students enrolled for the 2017-18 school year.  The Willow School absorbs between 95% and 100% of tuition expense for these high-achieving students in need, as well as the cost of transportation and extracurricular activities. “We are honored to provide an opportunity to SEEDS students to learn in an environment that emphasizes academic excellence, ethical development, and educating for sustainability.  “We’ve found that the rich reciprocal relationship we’ve built with NJ SEEDS and the students that attend Willow has not only given us a great opportunity to put our virtues into action as a community, it has also given us so much. These excellent students and their families inspire and motivate the entire Willow community.” - Jerry Loewen, Head of School at Willow.  Shop at Dean’s Natural Food Market’s Basking Ridge or Chester locations September 30 and October 1, and five percent (5%) of net sales will go directly to help fund the SEEDs program at The Willow School. Shoppers will also enjoy family-friendly tastings, vendor samples, discounts, and raffles. Willow School staff and parents will be on location to talk with customers, meet members of the community, and share information about the school and the SEEDS program.  “Having spent time with the dedicated team of educators at the Willow School over the past year, it is clear they are paving the way for a new fresh, effective way to educate our youth. Their commitment to teach critical life skills is the key to a more socially responsible future. “The Willow School’s commitment and values are closely aligned with Dean’s, and we are proud and humbled to work with them. Our goal in doing so is to help create more diversity amongst the student population, and give those in need and opportunity to be a part of this amazing educational experience.” - Dean Nelson, owner of Dean’s Natural Food Market
