Dean's is proud to announce that we can now accept SNAP / EBT payments (formerly known as Food Stamps) in our Ocean location. In 2014, 14% of US households were food insecure. SNAP, one of the nation's anti-hunger programs, helped 46 million low-income Americans to afford a nutritionally adequate diet that year. Households can use SNAP benefits to buy:
  • Foods for the household to eat, such as:
    • breads and cereals;
    • fruits and vegetables;
    • meats, fish and poultry; and
    • dairy products.
  • Seeds and plants which produce food for the household to eat.
Seventy percent of all food stamp participants are in families with children, while more than one-quarter of participants are elderly or disabled.  For more information about SNAP / EBT, click here. If you know of someone who has SNAP benefits or are a part of a local community organization (e.g., church, health center, school, community organization) that might have access to folks with SNAP benefits, please spread the word to them. While this service is currently only available in our Ocean locationwe're aiming to provide it in all of our locations in the future.
